Born and raised in the North, Ashley Larose is the CEO at Science North and Dynamic Earth, Canada’s second and eighth largest science centres, and Northern Ontario’s most popular tourist attractions.
Ashley joined Science North in 2006 and has held various leadership roles throughout her 17 years with the organization, including outreach initiatives across Northern Ontario, international business development all over the world, fundraising efforts right here at home, and in August 2022 she began her service as the first ever female CEO at Science North.
Ashley received her Honour’s degree in Biology from the University of Waterloo and completed her Master’s of Science at Laurentian University. She is a passionate scientist who spent the earlier part of her career working as a research scientist in cities across North America. Her Master’s degree saw her bringing cutting-edge genomic techniques to the world-renowned freshwater research that was already underway in Sudbury.
Ashley is active in the world of science centres and museums and has been sought after for keynote speaking roles, panelist work and has appeared as the host for multiple national and international conferences. In her down time Ashley enjoys being outdoors with her son and husband and is a skilled mixologist, and pizza connoisseur.
